Never post provocative pictures of yourself or anyone else, and be sure any images you provide do not reveal any of the preciously mentioned information. Always remember to look at the background of a picture too.


Never send anyone pictures without permission from your parents.

Avoid group photos especially school sport teams and activities. It there is a picture, you should make sure it does not have your school logo or team logo. You should also avoid linking to photo album sites like Photo bucket or Flikr.

Do not mention your age, full name, city, school, or any information that people could use to harm you.

Do not tell personal information such as your home address, phone, numbers of yours or friends, state or city you line in (it’s ok to tell the country), do not tell your occupation (it’s ok to say that you work in the media outlet in a mid-sized city), social security numbers, credit card numbers,, family members and friends names, email addresses, myspace.com URL if you have one, name of school, high school, or college you attend, names of teachers at your schools, medical information/records, computer ID, and any other information that you don’t want other people reading.

Possible safe suggestions that you can post are types of pets you have (do not give names), your favorite color, hobby, activities, and sports you play (do not give the team name or school).

Blogs are very popular for children in ages 13-19 and young adults in the ages of 20-29. It is important to them because it gives them a chance to be able to publish their thoughts on the internet instead of writing on paper. It can also help people by improving their typing speed and grammar skills.

Avoid any in-person meetings
Think before you post photos because they can be viewed by anybody
Check your comments often and don't reply to bullying
Be honest about your age
Parents should be able to view their childs blog
Some disadvantages of blogs are that anybody can post a comment on your blog and you cant block them
People can send you spam and this can damage your computer
